Paid Work Experience

A consultation on your paid work experience offer is provided if you are a mentorship organisation. However, to enquire about an independent consultation, please fill out our form below.

Why paid work experience is important for CEP inclusion:

We know first-hand the barriers for CEP having to pay for their own work experience to get a level footing. At LWC we are determined to build connections with law firms and chambers to offer paid opportunities.

Barriers to CEP accessing work experience:

  • A potential lack of family support and social capital means we are not able to stay with family rent-free so require reimbursement for reasonable accommodation expenses;

  • Potentially having to take time from part-time or full-time work to gain work experience, so CEP should be adequately compensated for their time and expenses.

  • Potential childcare obligations.

LWC Inclusion Inventory:

  • We have compiled our LWC Inclusion Inventory for our CEP aspiring lawyer mentees to download. On it, it includes all current paid work experience opportunities in law
